Meet New Chapter President Bob Proko

Attendees at the winter meeting of the Carolinas 7×24 Exchange chapter welcomed new president Bob Proko, who had previously served as vice president of the chapter. Bob comes to the position with more than 24 years of mission critical data center infrastructure experience. He is also a longtime member of the 7×24 New

York chapter and is a principle member of the Uptime Institute Network, where he has been a member for more than 18 years.

Bob has been with Wipro for the last three years and is currently the global director of data center facilities infrastructure and hardware. He is responsible for providing 100 percent uptime at all Wipro DCS data centers globally. His duties include oversight of the critical facilities managers, engineers, technicians, and all preventative maintenance vendors, in addition to real estate and physical security management. He is also responsible for risk assessment and mitigation, budget forecasting, vendor selection, and contract negotiations. Bob ensures Wipro DCS provides best-in-class operational consistencies among all of its facilities.

The chapter members and board of directors are very excited that Bob has taken on this role and are very confident that he will continue the good work that has been established by outgoing president Tom Jacobik. “I am looking forward to working with the board and the members to expand our membership as we continue to provide high quality events,” Bob says.

Bob also hopes to foster synergy between the national 7×24 organization and the chapter. “The national chapter has witnessed the good work that has been done by the Carolinas chapter over the past three years, and they look at us as a benchmark for other chapters. We are extremely honored by this recognition.”

Bob added, “My association with the 7x24 Carolinas membership has been a tremendous value to me personally with my career responsibilities. I would invite those who have not attended to come to a meeting and see why this organization is unique in providing value to all mission critical professionals.”
